Starting a remote X session on local screen

Hello everyone on the SuSE list I remember a good while ago someone posted the method used in order to start a remote X session on the local PC. I have lost my print out of this and wonder if anyone can let me know how to accomplish same. (or where I might look for info) Also what is the file name I need to edit in order to stop the small console window starting everytime I start KDE.
