Thanks guys and gals at SuSE for an easy to configure netnews in this distro. The factory I'm in is being sold and the netnews servers, which are my life blood, will be inaccessable. So encouraged our administrators to set up netnews. One administrator thought Linux would be a good host and I agreed to help him. So as a lunch time project (and a little more) for the past few days I learned about serving netnews. I tried my SuSE 6.4 and after a bit of reading and testing I have a server set up on my desktop and and another. They send mail back and forth to each other and serve it to clients in our factory. Not bad for a few lunch hours. BTW I'm not quite finishted yet though. Nows the tough part. Some admins want to use an M$ solution. But are not sure of it because of all the maintainence it will take. (I believe them - especially when we are talking about M$.) The SA who I am setting up a feed with says he only has to visit the server about onece every three months. It's an 1994 vintage inn program running on Sun OS. That amount of atonomy for the mail server sounds very good to me.
