Even though I compiled my scsi drive as [*] when I ran
my new kernel XSane wouldn't connect. So, on a lark,
I tried as root "insmod sg" and it worked! The scsi card
was compiled as a module even though I had it set as
part of the kernel. Funny thing, I saw the scsi scan
the scanner and identify it as the kernel was booting.
Strange.
