The beta compiler is GCC 2.96 and will not even be compatible with the aimed release of 3.0. I am already having some problems even with src rpms sometimes too, just as you did. I'd like to point out that packages made on RH 7.0 ONLY run on RH7.0. This is one of the reasons oracle never bothered to support it... Do you think that's a feature rather than a bug?! They use a beta-compiler of which even the gcc team says it's never going to be an official release, but merely a beta-stepping stone on the way to gcc 3.0, which will be the enxt official release.
