Is the plub symbol for ISDN and dial-up connections only? What happens
when you open a root console (open konsole, File, Root Console, enter

For status: adsl-status

If I click on the plug connector I get a instant connection
symbol, but am still
not connected to the internet. Kinternet under connection check
states Defaultroute failure, Nameserver fail-

The nic eth0 is configured as I have in the past, no ip address, DHCP
selected, card not active, nameserver set to earthlink.net, dns set to
earthlink's three servers. On the hardware side, module 8139too is specified,
the nic is a real teak(sp) 8139 card. This set-up has worked in the past on
SuSE and other distro's. Orignally I was using SuSE's adsl config module in
Yast2. Attempts to use Yast1 have ended with Yast1 aborting with no errors.
So I am staying away for it. Not sure what to do next. Thanks for all your
help.
