In KDE it works like this: start a Konsole as a user. Type # which netscape You should get a response like /usr/X11R6/bin/netscape Now right-click on the desktop, create a new application, name it Netscape.kdelnk, type /usr/X11R6/bin/netscape in the Execute box under the Exexcute tab, click on the icon to choose a new one and click OK. Then you should have netscape on your desktop. If 'which' doesn't respond, use it again as root and check your manual for how to set your path to include the directory containing netscape.
