Laptop for SuSE

Can any of the SUSE users recommend an inexpensive Laptop (< $ 2000.00) that
SuSE will succesfully install on. I was considering a Dell 3800 or 4000 or an
IBM thinkpad i model. My chief concerns are what kind of modem to get. and
any problems with configuring / installing X.
