I was a bit astonnished to see a difference between the kde2 package name installed by yast (kbase2-...) and the one that I find in the directory ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/KDE2/update_for_7.0/k2de1/RPM/ (kdebase-2...).
I expected to find the same package in those two places but at least their names are different. How comes?
Now, how do I do to upgrade to the newest version?
You can either use YaST to do it all for you (pointing it to the right ftp directory, etc.) or you can download the files yourself and use the command: rpm -U <packagename> for each of the packages you downloaded. The naming differences *shouldn't* be a problem, since rpm *should* recognise that the new packages are a later version of the older ones, and uninstall the older ones for you. In short, don't worry about the names. Hope that helps, Chris -- __ _ -o)/ / (_)__ __ ____ __ Chris Reeves /\\ /__/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / ICQ# 22219005 _\_v __/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\
