I hope there is a better way then what I am going to suggest, but if there
is none, this should work:
Create two different schemes in the pcmcia scripts and modify lilo.conf to
have two entries, one for stand alone and one for docked.
Create two XF86Config files, one for stand-alone and one for docked. Lets
call them XF86config.standalone and XF86Config.docked.
As part of the pcmcia scheme code, copy the correct XF86Config.xxx to
/etc/X11/XF86Config.
I will be more then happy to find out there is a better way to achieve
this, maybe with some X11 setting.

What is the right approach to configure a Dell laptop that is sometimes on the move and sometimes connected to 19" monitor via a dockingstation?
I'm using suse-7.0 and it is possible to configure X for the 19" monitor and it is also possible to configure X for the on board lcd screen. But how can I configure X to automatically switch to one or the other with the right resolution and and such??
