Can you help me guys. I had an error with my LILO. When i tried to boot from doze it gives me an error:
LILO Boot: dos Loading dos Error 0x00
Here's what that error code means: 0x00 "Internal error". This code is generated by the sector read routine of the LILO boot loader whenever an internal inconsistency is detected. This might be caused by corrupt files. Try re-building the map file. Another possible cause for this error are attempts to access cylinders beyond 1024 while using the LINEAR option. See section "BIOS restrictions" for more details and for how to solve the problem.
I tried to boot from a floppy and transfer the systems files and try to run the windoze manually still it doesn't work.
I don't know what does it means and how to correct that error. Here are the partition details.
Partition Status Type Mbytes System 1 Nod-Dos 24 2 Ext Dos 8009 C:3 Pri Dos 6291 Fat32
I am using a red hat 6.2
I suppose that can be forgiven ;-) Could you either post your /etc/lilo.conf file to the list or send it to me privately, so that I (or someone else) can check it over and make sure all is as it should be. You should also send your partition layout (found using the 'p' command in Linux fdisk) since the DOS FDISK's version isn't very informative (surprise, surprise).
