Ditto .. I was expecting something that looked similar to:
Ipackets Ierrors Opackets Oerrors Collisions
lo0 x x x x x
eth0 x x x x x
eth1 x x x x x
.. but with more fields.

I just tried it and got a listing that looks basically identical to
ifconfig.
Not used netstat much, so I am looking it up on the man pages...
