I found KDE's rpms a snap. Just download with ncftp into a temp directory, rpm -Uvh --force --nodeps *.rpm and away you go. It might take you two or three times through the set to get them all installed, as rpm has a habit of dying with a 'use rpm --rebuilddb' type error, but the second or third time you do this and then run the rpm command as above, you'll get through the set. Works fine, total install time about 15-20 minutes. --Kevin On Mon, 5 Feb 2001, O'Bieito wrote:
Anyone did it ? Do you know if there is any trouble for installing the rpms at ftp.kde.org ? Are SuSE packets 'tuned' in some way ? I wouldn't want to lose any features, but I find SuSE's ftp a litte 'messy' with ALL those directories and more directories. kde's ftp is much more comfortable.
