Can it be that easy? ;-) Thanks that worked perfectly. Rule! Have a good day, Dannie Mark Hounschell wrote:

I would like to compile my own kernel. SuSE comes with a few already compiled kernels and I would like to use their configuration map for compiling my own kernel.
In other words; I don't know what all the options are. SuSE does. I would like to make a couple of modifications to the kernel I currently run and would like a file to "Load Configuration from File" when running "make xconfig". Does anyone know if these files exist or how I might make them?
I am currently running SuSE 7.0, Kernel 2.2, precopiled kernel "Kernel with APM-support"
Thanks for your help, Dannie
If you have the lx_suse (kernel sources) installed, and then you use YAST1 to install a kernel from the CD's, after it is installed it should ask you if you want to overwrite your existing /usr/src/linux/.config file with a new one corresponding to the kernel you just installed. If you don't already have a /usr/src/linux/.config file I believe it will place one there for you, again corresponding to the kernel you just installed.
Hope it helps...
