Well said Eric!! I mean windows is slower and it crashes more but...in Linux you can't get anything working without spending days on it I mean...I still have a problem with my scsi emulator. And on windows you get the drivers but on Linux there are no drivers for many things(hp DeskJet 720c, Mustek scanner[LPT1], hp cd-writer plus 9200 [not scsi]..)
Interesting comment. I used to dual boot WinXX too. But, as I became more familiar with Linux I found myself booting the dark side less and less. One day, over a year ago, I realized that I had not booted WinXX for some time... So, I cut the apron strings and reclaimed the WinXX hd space for Linux. I run ADSL through a Cisco 675 router, a Musteck scanner through a 53C810 scsi card, a Zip100 through a 2nd parallel port, a BJC-610 printer on another parallel port, and a 3com905B NIC that connects to the router. SuSE's YaST1 sets them all up. Because I have an older box my sound chips are standard, so I one-click install the OSS drivers. That's the only manual setup I do. When you learn to improvise you will become more proficient. Remember, you are probably still thinking in WinXX, so..... Use the force, Luke! ;-) JLK -- "God who gave us life gave us liberty.
