Thanks Mark,
Perhaps I need to compile the XFree. I had installed it (4.01) earlier. I
think it was from the SuSE site and from RPM. The linuxnewbie.org
article that you are mentioning is what I am using as a guide. So I do have
that reference. I ASSumed that since I already had XF 4.01 working I could
skip that step - so now a step back and try again.
