I have recently replaced an Ati Rage pro 8mb with an ATI expert@play 8mb only because the new card has TV out, which I need for my DVD.
I think the two cards use the same processor.
But when I configured the new card with sax2 (I use SuSE 7), I started having problems with screen redraws: some text becomes illegible when you use sliding bars quickly.
I have read all I could find on the SuSe website and in newsgroups, I have downloaded the new 4.02 version, but I still have the same problem.
Has anyone experienced the same problem, and can anyone offer a solution?
Thanks
It's been my experience that those kind of problems are due to an incorrect vert and/or horz frequency choice when setting up the xserver. Does the documentation for your *monitor* give those values? If so, use them when setting up the xserver. What sax2 detects may work somewhat, as yours does, but not be correct.
