Subject: RE: [SLE] virus
Hi
It isnt a virus at all... the motherboards 'anti-virus' checker isnt really quite that - all it does is notify you when a program tries to write something to the boot sector of your hard disks (a common method used by viruses to destroy your computer). Simply booting a linux boot disk shouldnt set any warnings off, although if you try to install LILO to the boot sector of a disk with the anit-virus setting on, you'll have that nice little message pop up! Make sure you disable it when installing your OSes (especially Windows if you're gonna install it) as it can sometimes cause problems. Once you have installed your OSes, turn it back on, just in case!
Hope this helps,

Subject: [SLE] virus
I have a fic motherborad (SD11) with a built in virus checker
When I boot Linux from floppy, the built in virus checker goes off and
warns me a virus is present in the boot sector. I am using a new, linux
formatted boot disc and don't beleive there is a virus there
any ideas?
