Are you wanting to set up caching DNS or full DNS (full DNS being where
you have your own domain and IP address range...)?

The DNS-HOWTO actually explains all of this extremely well, and that's
where I learnt how to do it for the first time.

For caching DNS, the rpm basically configures itself. The only things I
changed for caching DNS were the 'forwarders {...' lines.

Setting up full DNS is slightly more complicated, but a basic
configuration can be quite easy, putting a few lines in /etc/named.conf
and creating a couple of zone files in /var/named with the DNS
information.

I think your best bet would be to read the DNS howto through, which
explains things very clearly (don't miss any bits out...).

If you need any more help, give us a shout,
Chris
