I have not found a way to get mingetty (SuSE default?) to display the
login without the hostname. In mingetty(8) the only options are
--noclear and --long-hostmane so it would seem that the source would
have to be modified to allow a --nohostname (or similiar). It is
easier to use another getty but keep in mind that mingetty is smaller
than most (if not all) of the others. IIRC, agetty and mgetty can be
set so only login: shows up.
