Subject: problem with taper ..



Hi all,

I have the stock taper installed on my linux box...kernel 2.2.14
the taper version is 6.7a i think ( the latest is 6.7b ) ..All this
while I have been backing up to my SCSI HP-DDS2 cartridge

But today, as i was selecting directories for backing up..the bottom
left panel showed over 4 Gb of data selected, then i selected /var
and the fig was reset to 128 Mb ...

The backup status went upto 1200 % as the data was being backed up..
i am thoroughly confused and don't know whats happening, and am
not sure that such a backup can be relied upon ...

Can anybody please explain what's going on ?
