Hal,
I would uninstall all things KDE2 and then make sure you have all
the RPM's in the directory for your version. I would then reinstall
them so that you have nothing lurking from a previous install of
KDE2. I don't know why the dcopserver isn't starting ...it works
fine for me under 6.4 at home and 7.0 in the office.
