Subject: NIS and SuSE 6.4: unknown usernames?

Hello,

I'm running SuSE 6.4 on four boxes. They all share a password-file over
NIS, which is handy when editting files over NFS-mounts etc.
Now, when I'm working on one of these boxes, the machine can not determine
my username from my (numeric) userid. However, I can normally log in or do a
su to myself, and then all seems OK again.
What gives? I'm getting a little tired of this, can anyone give any advice
on how to fix this?

Thanks,
Hein
