I have a SiS 6326. The chip default in /etc/X11/XF86Config is:
Option "hw_cursor"
Try changing this to:
Option "sw_cursor"
Good Luck.

I'll repeat my previous post .....
I have just upgraded to Xfree86 4.0.1and KDE2. I am running SuSE 7 personal and I downloaded the upgrade for Xfree86 and KDE from SuSE's ftp site. After the installation, as per the instructions in the readme, everything seems good, except for my mouse cursor which is a 3/4" square instead of an arrow. Left click and right click both work, so far. My video card is an SiS 6326 PCI.
How do I get my cursor back? I tried running /usr/X11/bin/xf86config4 directly, with no luck. Help
