Subject: yast2 and Sis900
I don't know if this message belongs to this list, but when I install Suse 7.0 on a machine with PCChips MB, with onboard network, sis 900, Yast2 tells that I have an Realtek 8139.
The config runs ok, but I cannot get outside from my machine to network.
Looking at the logs I discovered that the rtl8139 module wasn't getting the HW address (00:00:00:00). So I've changed in modules.conf the line that loads rtl8139 to sis900 and everything runs ok now.
I think this is a bug in the hardware detection of Yast2... is here the right place to post this message?
Thanks,
Paulo Assis
