The entry in /etc/fstab is actually not relevant for playing audio CD's, because the CD is not mounted while playing. /dev/cdrom is most likely a link to some other device node. Try ls -l /dev/cdrom and then send us the output of ls -l /dev/XXX (replace XXX with whatever /dev/cdrom was pointing to) <p>Regards Ole
