Hi all,
I would like to be able to browse/mount the Samba/Win98 shares on my LAN from my SuSe 6.4 workstation ..... where can I get documentation regarding this ? Preferably I'd like to be able to do this from the console.... I have tried utils like LinNeighborhood, but didn't like them much ..........
Thanks in advance
Anurag
I can tell you how I just figured out how to do this in SuSE 7.0. The command I used is:
Hmm, cool , on 6.4 I kept getting errors the the kernal did not suport or have the smbfs suported or compiled in, and therefore used smbmount and smbclient instead
I'm using the stock suse kernel right now, and Samba works Ok. One if the install messages sent to root mentioned the mount -t smbfs, and I've never looked back. 2.0.6 wasn't the best, and I keep 2.0.7 around if I really mess something up.
mount -t smbfs -o username=your_name,password=your_password //samba_server_name/share_name /mount/point
