Looks like the horde project has IMAP webmail and calendar/scheduling tools. Serve thie under https and you should be happy if your company is not too big!
The calendar and contacts are still very beta, but it's free and bugs can be ironed out only if the software is being actively used!
IMP is the Internet Messaging Program. It is written in PHP and provides webmail access to IMAP and POP3 accounts.

I had checked phpgroupware.org especially with the phpgroupware apps modules (when they are completed) it could be a very promising application for groupware
