I went farther than that. Because my SuSEconfig + setup scripts got messed up and even root couldn't touch'm. It was like they had invisible 000 mod.

I reinstalled SuSE7 and used SuSE's KDE2 binaries. Everything is running great. The problems with KDE2 from the SourceForge site are gone. JLK
mounted r/w now after reinstall?? I couldn't resist. ;-) But the upper theory might be an issue for the problem. Now, it's impossible to prove though. Juergen
