So I read the help files and checked some pages about Netatalk but I'm confused. I can log in as guest but not as a user. I checked /etc/passwd to make sure I have a shell and I do. What I want is to have guest access off and be able to log in as a user. Anybody out there sharing Mac and SuSE that could shed a little light on my problem?

Make sure everything is commented out on the /etc/atalk/afpd.conf. Just use the one line in atalkd.conf:
