Since upgrading from SuSE 6.4 to SuSE 7.0 I am having bizarre problems with resolv.conf I have set up in rc.config search localdomain and nameserver and told it to create resolv.conf. I can log onto the net but cannot go anywhere at all because resolv.conf is totally blank. The only way I can get my mail or do anything else is by connecting to the net opening a terminal su root, vi /etc/resolv.conf, filling in the information manually while connected and then opening kmail to send and recieve the mail. This is completly stupid but it is the only way it will work for me. SuSE 6.4 worked just fine what is wrong. Please help this is driving me mad.
Mine is the same way. I just keep a copy os resolv.conf as a back up and copy it over when this happens *--------------------------------* | Chris Large clarge@macn.bc.ca | | http://gone for now | *--------------------------------* -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
