I can't believe how painless this was. I'm installing SuSE 6.4 on an
older Fujitsu Lifebook with a 166 Pentium MMX and a 2 gig drive. The
install found my modem, network card, mouse, and video card. Sax didn't
work with my display card and LCD display, but I didn't expect it to.
XF86Setup worked once I found the correct Hsync and Vsync of the 600X800
display (non-interlaced). I haven't started work on the sound card yet,
but I ran out of time tonight.
When I'm out using it as a standalone I like to use a Cirque serial
touchpad, but in the office I hook it up to a switching
monitor/keyboard/mouse setup using a PS/2 Logitech Trackball. Is there
a way to load both these drivers and have X figure out which one I'm
using? I suppose I could switch out /etc/XF86Config and have a script
ask which I'm using, but is there a more elegant way?

Since I hurt my pendulum
My life is all erratic.
My parrot, who was cordial,
Is now transmitting static.
The carpet died, a palm collapsed,
The cat keeps doing poo.
The only thing that keeps me sane
Is talking to my shoe.
