Hi, A cohosting site at which I help maintain a webserver, has a DNS policy of a one-to-one mapping of ip numbers to hostnames. We want to use named-based virtual hosting wherein multiple hostnames all point to one ip address. Since the iphost's dns policy prohibits this( they want an additional $8.00 per ip-number-hostname combo per month); we are looking into running our own DNS server for our virtual hosts. Questions: 1. I realize it isn't wise, but is it possible to run the site, the primary dns server, and the secondary dns server all on one machine, thru a single ethernet card? 2. What would be the cheapest setup to do this? Any suggestions or shortcuts?
