I have a problem setting up my Microtek scanner in SuSe 7. It used to work in versions 6.0, 6.1 and 6.3 with various self-compiled kernels, but I can't get it to work in 7.
I have a CD and CDRW, recognized as SR0 and SR1. No problem.
The scanner used to be recognized as sg0. No more so with the stock SuSE kernel in 7. I recompiled a 2.2.17 kernel, and bingo, the scanner is recognized at boot time as sg0, but when I launch Xsane, the program freezes when I click the preview or scan button.
I have a symlink /dev/scanner pointing to /dev/sg0. Scanner is setup in yast1.. Permissions on /dev/sg0 and /dev/scanner as set to 777.
Could anyone please help?
Thanks
