That's great, however she has a fairly old motherboard, with only one USB port, so I'll probably buy the Epson Perfection 610 USB scanner with the Epson inkjet 760 printer in the parallel port. Thank god Epson have an 'open' approach to documenting their hardware interfaces. :-) Fingers crossed! k. On Wednesday, October 04, 2000 12:23 PM, dids [SMTP:richard@diddyland.com] wrote:
It worked fantastic with 6.4 and usb. I was quite shocked when it auto-configured it with yast2
some things the print quality wasnt as good as w9x but, that was probably operator error. I didnt need to spend a huge amount of time on it. With a parallel cable its probably a doddle whatever version you run.

Yikes! I *was* going to buy this printer for my mum, who runs 6.4,
should
/ can I run from a USB on 6.4? What's the print quality like? Can you print from the gimp (the one application she really needs)?
Has anyone used a USB scanner, such as Epson Perfection under 6.4? Again, can you use it from the xsane plug-in for the gimp?
Many thanks! k. y ideas anyone?
I am getting exactly the same problem with my 740, It all goes well
until the
apsfilter message. Funnily enough it worked super with 6.4 ( to my amazement ). I am using it on a USB cable.
