The same way people download Mp3 songs for sampling and then buy the CD of
the album.
duh.
I am aware of the economics of the software business and hence I know they
don't get money for free downloads. But I'd be willing to buy a copy due to
the service they deliver. Because they don't offer me ftp in a timely manner
SuSE lost all the business they ever made with me. I won't buy again unless
SuSE loosens up. I count ftp access as one of the major advantages of Linux
and SuSE is ruining it. In 5 years when everybody got high speed access at
home/work SuSE will have to lighten up. CDs will not make revenue then
anymore. I been waiting for the ftp since August 25. Is it any wonder I am
pissed? I know in the coming releases I will not be alone. There are others
out there who want the thing on ftp.
How about a SuSE membership fee of 15 bucks a year to access limited-access
ftp servers??? I rather pay 15 bucks a year for this service than have to
buy a CD pack with a bunch of manuals I don't read. Also I wouldn't have to
sit here for 3 months waiting for my chance to install the latest aka 'by
then old' release.
