I have all the same problems.
To restart in ip-up, I have to flush everything and start over. I have
trouble with masquerading set to anything except ACCEPT everything.
I assume that you have the wvdial.dod script with the corrections made?
If it runs ok without masquerading, the script is probably good.

Having just changed from a Redhat flavor of linux to SuSE I am running into getting masquerading and demand dial to work properly. With my old linux I enapled demand dialing in the ppp options file and then I had ip-up.local load a small script that would automatically setup masquerading rules via ip chains. I am finding that using wvdial and this script don't work very well together!! When the connection times out and ends the dial-up connection everything goes to s**t. The next time that the dialup connection is requested the connection is made but the script refuses to run. Is there anyway to use the Redhat way of demand dialing and masquerading with SuSE or am I going to sleep on the couch until I figure this out. I have a small LAN at the house with a Linux box (SuSE) and 2 Win98 clients. Or can someone reccomend some firewall rules to use with SuSE firewall.
Thanks Jim Adams
