my sons mobo is Aopen AX63 Pro VIA Apollo Pro 133 AGPset Remember Tomshard...... some specific Nv_AGP and NV_VIA options I think there is something wrong inbetween kernel settings SMP - MTTR and the NVdriver in the suse distributions-settings for that particular AGP chipset. I found some more instructions, which were pretty similar, im thinking theres a specific problem here too.

Did you read the instructions from SuSE ftp......../X/XFree86/XFree86-4.0.1-SuSE/suse70/README ?They say the drivers are still in experimental stage.
The odd thing is that RH7 recognizes a nv driver during the installation process and SuSE not. I'm saying this because I reinstalled SuSE7 on my sons machine this afternoon without succes for the Geforce2GTS card.

still get same old error with XFree86 -configure. see previous post tried going back to 6.4 and following michaels instructions. same error
i think the only solution left is to get the latest cvs version from xfree86.org
can someone tell me how.
