just installed my SuSE 7.0 Prof. I set up a normal user and placed him in the "dialout" and "uucp" user groups. I removed the "lock" command from /etc/ppp/options. When I set up kppp, I remover the check box that indicates to use a "lock" file. When kppp is run, the phone connection is made and during the invocation of "pppd", kppp shuts down with a "can not open lock file" error. Anyone else get this message? How do I correct? Why is a lock file involved since I removed the "lock" command from /etc/ppp/options? Almost sounds like a "permissions" problem but where and what file? -=cwa=- --- Christopher W.
