Thanks Alvaro and Mark - I hadn't realised that Konqueror has (at least) 2
modes, for file managing and browsing - if you have it done as a browser,
it does produce right-click menus that allow a save (though not, apparently,
if you have followed a link through to a larger graphic from a thumbnail?),
nor did I think to look for save as under the view menu - guess I'm used to
looking under file, or something similar.
You can switch between file and browser settings on the fly, but on my
machine konqueror seems to crash when you do this.
I don't know if I was doing anything wrong here, but on browsing for a while
in Konqueror, the machine seemed to slow and have difficulty switching
desktops, before finally going into a terminal thrash. The disk stayed so
busy I couldn't even log in from a text console outside KDE because the
logins timed out - anyone else had anything similar? Only kde2 and Konqueror
were running at the time.
Thanks again for the advice and help, much appreciated,
Cheers
