The problem is in the firewall masquerade. Using ppp0 requires restarting the firewall in ip-up because of dynamic IP's.
I am having trouble setting up the firewall policy. The 6.3 manual has no information. It is pinging the ISP, but the firewall never send the reply back to the remote machine.
Does anyone have a SuSE firewall & masquerade setup instruction?
ipchains shows DENY policy for the local network. What settings should I use in rc.firewall and rc.config?

Regards Bruce.
I am getting a ping, but http request always come back as: site refused connection... may be busy...
To get this to run I had to run SuSEfirewall. But it gives an error message:
ippp0: error fetching interface information: Device not found
the modem is ppp0, what is ippp0? It's almost working.
