Whenever I log in to KDE, it restarts any apps that were running when I last shut down. I find this *extremely* annoying! Is there any way to prevent this!
Look carefully at the logout window and select accordingly...
Well, I see the apps listed but I see no way to remove them from the list. Also, needing to do this manually on every logout would be just as annoying as having the apps restart when I next log in!
There must be some way to kill this whole concept. I can see the apps listed in Well, I see the apps listed but I see no way to remove them from the list. Also, needing to do this manually on every logout would be just as annoying as having the apps restart when I next log in!
There must be way to kill this whole concept. I can see the apps listed in ".kde/share/config/kdmrc" under the "[Session]" section, so this is probably a clue as to what needs to be done but I still can't find anything to turn it off.

I had the same question a few months ago and some one provided the answer. Edit the file /opt/kde/bin/startkde. The last line should read: exec kwm change this line to read exec kwm -nosession and you'll have the behavior you're looking for. The only problem is that this will change it for everyone on your computer. This isn't a problem for me since I'm the only user of my laptop but if it's a multuser system you'll have to convince everyone using it to have the same setting.
