There was also something with the library needed by mc (look into the dependencies). Reinstall this, something got wrong with it. (That might even be mentioned in the SDB)

SDB article and the ncurses package wasn't upgraded (the versions on 6.2 and 6.4 RPM were the same, so I hat to force the upgrade... now mc worls in console and X.
