I think the same, quite a lot of people buy those kind of cards.
Personnaly, I have geforce DDR and my son has a geforce2 GTS
Just bought suse7 who recognized the geforce DDR easily (nv driver)
Then I installed the NVdriver and glx module. Download it from SuSE ftp.
There was only one little dependance to be resolved. Read also the guide at
www.tomshardware.com. Very instructif.

What I experienced was that the installation of SuSE is very bizarre :
( The two computers have only one microprocessor )

On my computer I have 6.4 and 7 installed. When I compare the autoconfig.h
SuSE6.4 gave me an SMP and MTTR defined for the kernel options while SuSE7
gives me SMP and MTTR undefined. ( I don't know why, hardware is the same ).
Anyway, with 6.4 couln't get the "nvidia" driver in my XF86Config working
even
with tomshardware indications.

On the computer of my son the installation SuSE7 and the Geforce 2 failed
because the autoc.h indicates a defined SMP.

So, I think SuSE should try to explain this and make a little howto for
people
having those kind of cards. A lot is probably depending on the bios settings
and the kernel options. So I can understand SuSE because there are a lot of
different motherboards. But it's a challenge for SuSE to be uptodate because
NVIDIA is leading in the graphics cards ( see they stocks on the market ).

Anyway, don't give up you learn a lot even if installation fails.
