[SLE] strange mail behavior is getting me too

OK, I was playing around with my mail system to see how Nick Zentana's problem was behaving. Earlier today, if I typed "mail zentara" as root, on my localhost, zentara would get mail in /var/spool/mail. Now all of a sudden, all mail goes into /var/spool/mqueue. Even if I specify "mail zentara@localhost" it goes into the outbox mqueue.?????? I reinstalled sendmail and mail, no effect. What file controls this delivery behavior???
