My Scanner is an Epson 610U perfection, but there are other the works.

As i installed it, there was some extra work to do. but with sane-1.0.3
(latest - i've tested yesterday), just .configure, make install (and the
sane for xsane-0.61) and you're done.

For the rest, please read the docs under
/usr/src/linux/Documentation/usb (kernel 2.2.16)
