You should check out the link for the Toshiba Satellite 1620CDS and
Toshiba Satellite 1640CDT: http://www.sslug.dk/~frank/toshiba1620.shtml

They should be pretty close.

Not too sure here. Perhaps a second hand one might be an option.

Yep, well it was either run windows (no flame war please) or get linux
working on a laptop =)
