Can someone tell me where the servers are located in the xfree86 4.0 package? I just compiled the source from suses ftp site and every thing went well untill I tried running X. I get a message saying something like "XF86_xxxx not found". What's weird is that I did this (compiled X4.0) at work and everything went fine. The only difference between the two computers is that my machine at home uses a riva/tnt card while the one at work uses a matrox millenium. Any help would be most appreciated.
thanks, rimez
As far as I know, and read the manuall, there are no servers, but instead of servers I uses drivers. I installed it for a frend of mine, so I don't know the exact path name, but the name was something like s3virge.??. You add only the name, and not the ?? (don't know what was after the point) You can extract the path of thise drivers off the XF86Condif file in /etc/X11, wich is the new location of the configuration file. There is also a probing options, but I don't know if this one is usefull for you Greedz Alex ------------------------------------- This Email is 100% Virus Free!
