I have NIS up and running... How would one enter a new user under SuSE.....
I think that you would add them in the ypserver, and that the cron job would add those new users to the YP database. I am probably wrong.. but I am taking a stab at it.....
You add the user in the yp files on the NIS server and then you run 'make' from /var/yp. No cron involved, unless you choose to involve cron yourself. :-) ypserv(8), ypxfr(8) and related man pages will give you more info about what _really_ happens. ;-) ---J.T.U. -- /==================================================================\ | Jon Trygve Utne |e-mail: jont@ii.uib.no | | Department of Informatics | Jon.Utne@mi.uib.no | | University of Bergen, Norway | Jon.Utne@student.uib.no | | Tlf(work) +47 55 58 47 72 |"Smith & Wesson: The original| | URL: http://www.ii.uib.no/~jont | point and click interface" | \==================================================================/ -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
