Can you set mp3blaster and realplayer to use /dev/dsp1 (or 2, 3, ...) instead of /dev/dsp? I remember having the same kind of problem with some sound software (don't remember whom) and setting /dev/dsp1 for the sound device for it solved the problem.
I have had a look around these programs, but there doesn't seem to be anyway of doing that.
