Hello Paul, on Saturday, August 26, 2000 at 13:20:38 +0100, you sat in front of your keyboard and wrote:
I now have a bit more info on this weird sound problems I have:
I'm running kernel 2.2.7 on a Sony F150 patched with the nm256 sound module.
When I go 'modprobe nm256', the sound works, i.e. the machine beeps and I can play CD's with kscd. BUT, if I try to use mp3blaster or realplayer I get 'sound device busy'.
What is going on?
Any help or pointers in the right direction would be appreciaed.
Thanks
Can you set mp3blaster and realplayer to use /dev/dsp1 (or 2, 3, ...) instead of /dev/dsp? I remember having the same kind of problem with some sound software (don't remember whom) and setting /dev/dsp1 for the sound device for it solved the problem.
